Even large corporations allow home office now, and workations away are suddenly a possibility for many professionals who were previously tied to their Monday - Friday office work week. So, why not take advantage of that global development and spend some weeks on the cliff in Portugal this winter?! We can offer special rates in our stylish holiday apartments for longer stays from December to March. Winter here on the cliff in Azenhas do Mar is an exciting mix of storms and sunny days. Relax by the pool and take long walks along the cost. Go surfing, play tennis or practice yoga. Lisbon is just a little more than half an hour by car from our apartment complex and always a great option for a daytrip.
Working Remotely in our holiday apartments
Our apartments are built for luxurious holiday stays, but we have all the infrastructure required for an effective and at the same time relaxing and fun workation. Set up your home office with our stable high-speed internet connection (fibre cable to the property). You can have your video calls in perfect quality while gazing over the Atlantic Ocean to the horizon. All apartments have enough space in their living / dining area to set up a work station. Caffein supply is secured by coffee machines in the kitchen of each apartment. Central heating will keep you comfortable and productive even on the colder days.
Luxurious facilities
During your well-deserved work breaks, enjoy the facilities of our luxurious holiday resort. Our Finnish sauna is the perfect option to relax on those winter days. Large windows open the view to the Atlantic Ocean. Rest in the 38° hot plunge and use the 8° ice plunge to re-energize. Work-out at the outdoor gym with long-bars, barbells, tractor tires, kettlebells, TRX suspension straps, skate boards, balancing boards etc. Improve your tennis on our court; equipement is available for free, one of our coaches will happily schedule a training session. Or practice yoga in our sea view yoga studio with one of our yoga teachers. It’s up to you to find the right balance between work and play.
Sunny Winter Season
We really like the winter season here by the Atlantic coast. Usually temperatures start to drop when rain becomes more frequent in late November or beginning of December. Pleasant dry spells with blue skies and warm winter sun can last for weeks, occasionally interrupted by a winter storm, with heavy rain and strong winds for one or two days. It can get chilly at night but central heating keeps the apartments warm and our open fireplaces make it extra cozy. Temperatures start rising again in February and storms becomes less likely.
Surf Season
The Atlantic ocean produces perfect waves during the winter months. Many of our local surf spots within 10min from our holiday apartments provide beautiful rides especially at that time of the year. Winter is also the time when Portugal's big-wave spots come to life. We cannot recommend enough to drive 1 hour north to the world-record big-wave surf spot in Nazare. When conditions are right, you can watch the global big wave elite paddling and towing into 30m growling waves. We will be here to advise when it’s on and worth going.
Trips to Lisbon
OUTPOST – Casa da Arribas is just a 40min drive from Lisbon. One of the most interesting capitals of Europe at the moment, with a lively cultural scene, laid-back cafes and exiting new restaurants. Winter is also the time to experience Lisbon at its best - without tourist crowds and without the summer heat.
Winter Workation Economics
With your low-season stay you can take advantage of amazing deals. Return flights to Lisbon from many European airports are below EUR 50. Rental cars are usually available for a fraction of the high season rates, i.e. under EUR 10 / day. The rates for our luxurious apartments are also significantly lower than in other seasons.
