Why did you choose to organize a corporate off-site event in Portugal?
“First of all, we wanted something absolutely different. Our company has endured a tough and stressful year, as our startup company has been scaling up fast in the last 10 months. Our directory team was under a lot of pressure and as CEO I felt it was time to take a breather and change sceneries. Especially the change of scenery is helping our team to gain a new perspective and get a fresh outlook on our company. We are not coming here just to work. We are coming here to re-connect, enjoy ourselves and work on our vision of the future. We believe that outpost offers exactly the right ingredients for our corporate off-site event. How did you make use of the space(s) at Outpost?
“We all stayed in separate bedrooms in Casa das Arribas, which offered us all a comfortable individual space. We rented the poolhouse as our communal place to work, have breakfast and dinner. This was a wonderful arrangement, the pool house offers the right amount of privacy and space to stay focussed and work together. To make our stay extra comfortable, we hired a private chef to cook our dinners. This saved us a lot of time during the day. No need to make reservations or find good restaurants. Typical about our directory team is that we love to continue work during dinner, so having a private chef was a wonderful part of our corporate off-site event. What else did you do during your corporate off-site event?
“Next to our brainstorm sessions, we chose to play tennis and compete against each other. It was the perfect way to blow off steam and keep the energy going. It is a perfect way to balance the mind and body, which is one of our corporate values. No matter how hard we have to work, we are always striving to stay healthy and exercise. Typical about our directory team is that we love sports, and this is another reason why we chose Casa das Arribas for our corporate off-site event. It is great to play tennis with the view of the Atlantic ocean in the background. After our tennis matches, we usually jumped into the sauna to sweat out all the toxins. It was a wonderful way to relax during an intensive day. One day we invited a masseuse to come over, giving us a shiatsu massage. We all felt re-born after this incredible massage and we highly recommend this if you are organizing a corporate off-site event”.
Did you get what you came for, during your corporate off-site event at Outpost?
“We absolutely did. We found the right combination of work and relaxation. The luxurious spaces at Outpost offered us all that we needed to focus and connect with each other. We came here with some difficult challenges to solve, so we needed to have an open and sharp mind. But also, we needed a new perspective on our company. This is hard during the day-to-day working life, we knew we needed to be in a completely different environment. At Outpost we found ourselves in a completely different world, the strong waves of the Atlantic ocean in the background. This was a great source of inspiration for us. The rural coastline of Azenhas do Mar inspired us, giving us new ideas to work with. It was quite fun to work in such an environment. We also loved walking around the area, which allowed us to have great talking sessions together. We definitely plan to come back with our whole team, and organize an even bigger corporate off-site event here in Portugal.”
